1. About Heulex
Heulex is an AI-powered risk analysis service for residential tenancy agreements. We help tenants understand potential risks in their agreements before they sign. We are not a law firm and do not provide legal advice.
2. Scope of the service
Heulex analyses Assured Shorthold Tenancy (AST) agreements governed by the law of England. We do not currently support tenancy agreements in Wales, Scotland, or Northern Ireland, or any agreement that is not a residential AST.
Uploading a document outside this scope may produce an inaccurate or incomplete assessment. It is your responsibility to confirm that your agreement falls within this scope before relying on a report.
3. Free result and paid report
After uploading your agreement, you will receive a free risk summary showing an overall risk rating and a per-category status across eight risk areas. No clause-level detail is included in the free result.
The paid full report includes a clause-by-clause breakdown, plain English explanations of identified risks, and relevant legislation references for each category. Payment is a one-time charge per report. You are not subscribing to a recurring service.
4. Payment
Payment is processed by Stripe. Heulex does not handle or store your card details. By completing payment, you agree to Stripe’s terms of service in addition to these terms.
The report is made available immediately after payment confirmation. A link to your report is also sent to the email address provided at checkout. Report links remain accessible for 30 days from the date of payment.
5. Refunds
Because the full report is delivered immediately on payment, we do not offer refunds as a matter of course.
If your report contains five or more categories assessed as UNABLE TO ASSESS, you may request a refund within 14 days of payment by contacting us at support@heulex.com. We will review each request and issue a full refund where the report could not reasonably fulfil the purpose for which you paid.
6. Accuracy and limitations
Reports are generated by an AI model evaluated against defined legal criteria. While we have validated the engine against real tenancy agreements, AI assessments can be incomplete or incorrect. The report is a starting point for your own review, not a definitive legal opinion.
Heulex assessments reflect the law as it stood at the time the criteria were last reviewed. Legislation changes over time. You should confirm the current legal position with a qualified solicitor before taking any action based on a Heulex report.
7. Not legal advice
Nothing in a Heulex report constitutes legal advice. No solicitor-client relationship is created between you and Heulex. If you have concerns about your tenancy agreement, you should seek advice from a qualified solicitor, Shelter, or Citizens Advice.
8. Intellectual property
The Heulex service, including the assessment criteria, software, and design, is owned by Heulex. You may not reproduce, distribute, or commercially exploit any part of the service or its output without our written permission.
You retain ownership of your tenancy agreement. By uploading it, you grant Heulex a limited licence to process it for the sole purpose of generating your report. Your document is discarded immediately after processing and is never stored.
9. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Heulex is not liable for any loss or damage arising from your use of the service or reliance on a report. This includes decisions made about whether to sign, negotiate, or challenge a tenancy agreement.
Our total liability to you in connection with any report shall not exceed the amount you paid for that report.
10. Governing law
These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales. Any disputes shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
11. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms from time to time. The version displayed on this page applies to any report generated after the “last updated” date shown above. Continued use of the service after an update constitutes acceptance of the revised terms.
